Şefki is a lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London, a PhD candidate in Law at the University of Sussex and was called to the Bar in 2023. His research interests span international and constitutional law, and he recently co-authored a report on Traveller rights with the University of Glasgow. He was previously a Senior Fellow and Rapporteur at JUSTICE, where he led research and drafting on reports concerning the Afghan Resettlement and EU Settlement Schemes. He has also published on extradition, climate litigation and surveillance law.
